P90-X Power Yoga

Yeah I know, sounds a little cheesy.  I borrowed it from a friend to check out the work out.  I have to be honest, I was genuinely expecting a watered-down, meat – head,  kind of yoga work out.  I was very wrong.  I first realized that this was a legit yoga workout when the instructor, Tony Horton, was using words like asana and vinyasa.   He absolutely puts the body through the kind of rigorous workout one comes to expect from Ashtanga.  I was sweating profusely 20 minutes in.  I wasn’t alone.  The other 4 people he had in the studio were also dripping.

I really enjoyed this workout.  He offers great tips and advice about the poses, which is awesome for beginners and a good remind for more experienced practitioners.    I regret to share with you, I am not in the kind of shape I thought I was in.  I’m used to shorter, slightly less intense workouts and did not realize this until this hour and 35 minute workout truly tested my endurance.  P-90x yoga is no joke.  It will leave your shirt wet,  lungs gasping and feeling amazing by the end. I highly recommend this for already fit individuals.
